Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Hiding Elephant ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies when you visit or use the Services.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how we use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies on hidingelephant.com and the related pages and applications we operate (the "Services").
Read it with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. Hiding Elephant, Cape Coral, is responsible for these technologies. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What these technologies do
Cookies are small files saved in your browser. Local storage also saves information on your device. Pixels and similar tools can send information about a visit or action to us or to a service provider.
We use them to keep the Services working, understand how people use them, and measure advertising and referrals. Some are ours. Others come from the services named below.
3. Essential technologies
These support features you ask us to provide: signing in, keeping the session secure, finishing registration, and opening the right workspace or project afterward. They stay on if you reject optional tracking. We do not use this category for advertising or optional analytics.
This includes our sign-in session cookie (about 30 days) and short-lived cookies used only to complete registration or to remember which project to open. We also store your theme preference in local storage. Cloudflare, which we use for security and delivery, may set its own security cookies.
When cookie choices are available on the site, storing that choice is essential too.
4. Analytics
With your consent, we use analytics to see which pages and features people use, find problems, and improve Hiding Elephant. These tools can collect pages visited, actions taken, browser and device details, and identifiers in cookies or local storage.
- PostHog provides product analytics, feature flags, experiments, surveys, and session replay. We store an identifier in local storage (posthog-distinct-id) until it is cleared. PostHog may also set its own cookie and local storage. Session replay can include interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and navigation.
- Google Analytics 4 measures site traffic. It loads through Google Tag Manager, including when you start checkout, complete a purchase, or create an account.
5. Advertising and referrals
With your consent, we measure how people find Hiding Elephant and whether campaigns and referral links lead to registrations or purchases.
- Google Tag Manager loads and manages these tags. Each tag follows the consent rule for its purpose. We send checkout, purchase, and sign-up events into Tag Manager for that measurement.
- Google Ads measures sign-ups and purchases that come from our ads, and connects an ad click to those actions. Remarketing runs on our pages and can be used to show you ads on other sites after you visit Hiding Elephant.
- OpenAI advertising measurement loads on our pages and records sign-ups and new subscriptions from ads we run on ChatGPT.
- Rewardful attributes registrations and purchases to affiliate referrals. Our affiliates page describes a 60-day referral window.
- Hiding Elephant referrals. If you arrive through our own referral link, we set a first-party referral_code cookie for that browser session.
Brevo sends email and runs marketing automation, as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not set a website cookie from the application. Tracking inside an email, such as opens or clicks, is not controlled by this site's cookie choice.
If you reject this category, we do not start its optional browser tracking or send its browser measurement events.
6. Your choices
On your first visit you can accept optional tracking, reject it, or choose analytics and advertising separately. Essential technologies stay on. Optional tracking stays off until you accept that category.
You can change that choice later through Cookie settings. The new choice applies from the moment you save it, including on the current visit. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already happened, and it does not delete information already collected. The Privacy Policy explains how to ask about that information.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies can stop sign-in and other core features.
7. How long they last
A session cookie usually ends when you close the browser. Others stay until they expire or you delete them. Local storage stays until the site or the browser clears it.

|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session cookie | Hiding Elephant | Essential | About 30 days |

| Theme | Hiding Elephant, local storage | Essential preference | Until cleared |
| posthog-distinct-id | Hiding Elephant, local storage | Analytics | Until cleared |
| PostHog's own cookie and local storage | PostHog | Analytics | PostHog's default; we do not set an expiry |
| Google Analytics | Analytics | Set by Google | |

How long a cookie stays on the device is separate from how long we keep information already collected. The Privacy Policy covers that retention.
8. Updates and contact
We update this policy when these technologies change. The date at the top is the latest version. Where the law requires it, we will ask for consent again. Questions: [email protected].
